A chilling double homicide has shaken the community of Columbus, Ohio. Michael David McKee, a 39-year-old vascular surgeon from Chicago, has been charged with two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of his ex-wife Monique Tepe and her current husband, Spencer Tepe, a dentist. The couple, both 39, were found shot dead inside their home on December 30. They had been married just five years and had two children, who were found unharmed in the house. Police have yet to reveal a motive behind the tragic killings. McKee, who attended medical school at Ohio State University, has licenses to practice medicine in Illinois, California, and had a lapsed license in Nevada. He is also named in a personal injury lawsuit in the state, but his medical records show no disciplinary history. A review of McKee's background reveals no serious crimes apart from traffic tickets. However, police found a suspicious vehicle near the crime scene, which was later linked to McKee. He was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 12 for a hearing that may lead to his extradition to Ohio to face charges. The couple's marriage to McKee ended in divorce in 2017, but there were no signs of animosity between them at the time. McKee has family ties to the Zanesville area and a history of playing football at the local high school. The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to piece together the events surrounding the tragic deaths of Monique and Spencer Tepe.
