Anupam Kher recently won the Best Supporting Actor award at UK Asian Film Festival for his Indo-Canadian film Calorie, a victory that holds a special significance for him. The film depicts the aftermath of the Kanishka Air Tragedy, which saw the loss of 329 lives, including 268 Canadian citizens and 24 Indian nationals. Kher's portrayal of the tragedy was deeply personal, as he had to tap into his emotions to bring the story to life.

Despite being in the industry for over four decades, Kher still gets butterflies when he wins an award, especially when it's for India on an international platform. He believes that actors have a unique opportunity to represent their country globally, and he takes his responsibility seriously.

However, Kher admits that celebrating such wins has become a challenge in today's times. He attributes this to the fear of trolls and criticism, which has led to a decline in the number of Bollywood parties. Kher recalls the good old days when Yash Chopra and Subhash Ghai would host lavish parties, but now people are afraid to celebrate their wins due to the fear of being trolled.
