Actors Kamal Haasan and Shruti Haasan were spotted casting their votes in the Tamil Nadu election, but their wholesome moment turned sour after they cut the line to cast their votes.
The internet noticed that Kamal, in particular, was criticised for 'delivering sermons' but not following through.
According to a video posted by ANI, Kamal and Shruti were standing in line at Alwarpet School when someone asked them to head inside to cast their vote, citing the disturbance caused by cameras around them.
The actors apologised to the person standing in front of them before heading inside.
Many on X (formerly Twitter) were miffed that Kamal and Shruti got to skip the line, with some users sarcastically commenting that they 'force their heft and deftly jump the queue.'
However, some reasoned that Kamal and Shruti were allowed by the police to skip the line, citing security protocols that prioritise speed.
Several other Kollywood stars, including Trisha Krishnan, Vijay, Ajith Kumar, Dhanush, and Rajinikanth, also cast their votes on Thursday.
