Shekhar Suman and Bharti Singh have been cleared of a 16-year-old court case after the Bombay High Court quashed the FIR. The case dated back to 2010 when a complaint was filed over allegedly offensive remarks made on the Sony TV show Comedy Circus Ka Jadoo.
The court clarified that the role attributed to Shekhar and Bharti was "too remote" to bring them within the alleged offences, and that no material had been found to show deliberate or malicious intent on their part.
Shekhar Suman reacted to the verdict, saying he was unaware of the case and was unnecessarily dragged into it to gain publicity. He expressed relief and gratitude to the honourable judge who trashed the case.
