Actor Sydney Sweeney will not appear in the highly anticipated sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2, despite having filmed a scene for the film. According to a report in Variety, Sweeney's cameo alongside Emily Blunt was cut from the final edit due to test audience feedback. The scene, in which Sweeney appeared as herself, was not well-received by viewers in test screenings.
Another cameo cut from the film featured actor Conrad Ricamora, who was cast as Andy's roommate. However, the scene was removed as it did not sit well with test audiences, who questioned the need for a roommate at this stage in Andy's life. The film now shows Andy spending more time with the character played by Tracie Thoms.
The Devil Wears Prada 2, directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, brings back Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep in their iconic roles as Andy and Miranda Priestley. The film also stars Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, and B.J. Novak, along with returning cast members Stanley Tucci, Tracie Thoms, and Tibor Feldman.
The sequel is set to release worldwide on May 1, 2026, and will feature several starry cameos, including Lady Gaga, Donatella Versace, and Naomi Campbell.
