SystemDirector: Ashwiny Iyer TiwariCast: Sonakshi Sinha, Jyotika, Ashutosh GowarikerRating: A courtroom drama rarely misses the mark, and System is no exception. The film, directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, grips you right from the start with its authentic setting and engaging narrative. The chemistry between Sonakshi Sinha's character, Neha, and her father, Ravi, played by Ashutosh Gowariker, and Jyotika's character, Sarika, keeps the story engaging. However, the film falters when everything comes too easily to Neha, making parts of the journey feel overly filmi. The eventual reveal does offer some justification, but the problem is that the directorial style plants hints along the way, leading you to suspect the outcome. The second half tests your patience, particularly with the track involving Neha moving out of her parents' house. The underwhelming music doesn't help either. Despite this, the film's theme lands effectively: how does one truly find justice in a system that so often bends to the will of the powerful and privileged? Performance-wise, Sonakshi delivers a good act, effectively bringing out the conflicted emotions of a daughter trying to carve her own identity. Jyotika stands out as a woman desperately trying to keep both her family and her hopes afloat. Ashutosh Gowariker does an okay job, but the emotional depth and warmth expected from the father-daughter dynamic are somewhat lacking.
System Review: Sincere Performances Can't Save It from Predictable Plot
System review: Sonakshi Sinha and Jyotika's courtroom drama is not an edge-of-the-seat thriller, but a more nuanced take on justice. | Bollywood
