In an interview, The Boys star Karen Fukuhara praises the show's portrayal of female characters, crediting creator Eric Kripke for writing 'layered, deep characters.'

Fukuhara, who plays Kimiko, a character who gained her voice in season 4, notes that Kimiko's newfound ability to verbalize her thoughts has allowed her to explore a new facet of the character.

The Boys has been praised for giving power and agency to its women, with Fukuhara citing examples such as Ashley becoming Vice President and Starlight becoming Annie.

Fukuhara credits Kripke and the show's writers for creating strong, complex female characters, saying 'I owe it to Kripke for writing such layered, deep characters, especially for the female characters on our show.'
