Two months after Lynette Hooker's disappearance in the Bahamas, the Coast Guard has resumed the search for the 55-year-old American woman in a new area. The initial search operation was triggered by her husband's report that she fell from a dinghy while they were navigating turbulent waters.

However, discrepancies between the location data and Brian Hooker's statements have raised scrutiny about the circumstances of her disappearance. A US official familiar with the investigation stated that the inquiry is looking into the possibility that Lynette Hooker's death was not accidental.

The Coast Guard has taken possession of the couple's yacht and the small dinghy that Brian Hooker claimed his wife fell from. DNA samples from Lynette Hooker's family members have also been requested as part of the investigation.

The search resumed in the Sea of Abaco, surrounding the island of Elbow Cay, where Brian Hooker claimed they were sailing towards. Divers and cadaver dogs have been deployed to search the waters and shore for any signs of Lynette Hooker.
