The head of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has stated that there are currently no links between the Indian government and transnational repression or foreign interference.

RCMP Commissioner Mike Duheme made the statement in an interview with CTV News, saying that based on the criminal information and investigations they have, they do not see any connection with any foreign entity, including India.

This comes after a series of statements from Canadian officials downplaying the involvement of Indian officials in targeted violence in Canada.

India had withdrawn six diplomats and officials from Canada in October 2024 after Ottawa asked New Delhi to waive their immunity so they could be questioned in relation to the allegations.

However, India has consistently denied accusations of its involvement in such activities in Canada and argued that no evidence has been presented to support these claims.
