After reports of US planes crashing and naval vessels being damaged by Iranian missiles, questions arose about the origin of the advanced missiles. China has denied finalizing a deal to sell CM-302 supersonic anti-ship missiles to Iran before the US-Israeli airstrikes.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning called the reports a disinformation campaign, saying China opposes ill-intentioned association and the spread of misinformation.

The US has assembled a naval group near Iranian waters to carry out the military campaign against Iran, making these vessels potential targets for advanced missiles.

China's reaction to the recent events has been guarded, with no aggressive response to the capture of its ally, Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, and the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

US President Donald Trump is due to visit Beijing on March 31, but it remains unclear if the visit will proceed as planned.
