The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has expressed 'proliferation concerns' over Iran's nuclear program, citing a lack of access to verify nuclear material since the conflict in June 2025.
The IAEA has repeatedly urged Iran to 'engage constructively' and allow inspectors to verify the country's nuclear activities, which have been impacted by military strikes.
The agency's concerns stem from Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium, which was calculated to be around 440 kilogrammes in June 2025, close to the 90 percent needed to make a bomb.
The fate of this stockpile has remained uncertain, with Tehran refusing access to IAEA inspectors at sites ravaged by US and Israeli strikes.
The IAEA director general, Rafael Grossi, has called on Iran to facilitate the full and effective implementation of safeguards in the country.
