The mother of a pregnant teenager killed in a car crash in the US has expressed support for the deportation of the Indian man accused of causing the accident.

Annette Holmes, the mother of 17-year-old Ashlee Holmes, said she is okay with Tarsem Singh being deported back to India, as he is believed to have entered the country illegally.

Singh, who was driving a Range Rover, was involved in a high-speed chase with authorities before crashing into a Jeep Cherokee, ejecting Ashlee Holmes, who was pregnant at the time.

The chase reached speeds of 100 mph and lasted for 5 miles before the fatal crash.

Singh has been indicted on multiple felony charges, including involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide, and aggravated vehicular homicide.

ICE has placed a detainer on Singh, ensuring he faces deportation proceedings after he serves his sentence.
