A severe weather outbreak is sweeping across the Plains and Midwest, with Oklahoma at the epicenter. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued tornado warnings for parts of the state, including Owasso, Tulsa, and Kellyville.
A tornado-producing severe thunderstorm was spotted 4 miles northeast of Little at 6:16 PM CST, moving eastward at 35 mph. The storm has since reached Okfuskee County, with damaging winds and hail posing a significant threat.
Residents in affected areas have been advised to seek shelter in basements or solid structures, avoiding windows and mobile homes. The NWS has warned that flying debris could be hazardous, and mobile homes may be severely damaged or destroyed.
The severe weather outbreak has been ongoing since Thursday night, with multiple powerful tornadoes reported in northwest Oklahoma. A massive wedge tornado killed at least two people near Fairview, while another tornado narrowly missed striking a radar at Kegelman Air Force Auxiliary Field.
