Pakistan and Afghanistan have announced a temporary ceasefire in hostilities until Eid al-Fitr, following requests from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey.
The ceasefire, which will come into effect at midnight on Wednesday, will remain in place until Monday, according to Pakistan's information minister Attaullah Tarar.
However, the minister warned that any cross-border attack, drone attack, or terrorist incident in Pakistan would lead to operations immediately resuming.
The conflict between the two countries has seen repeated cross-border clashes, with tensions escalating after the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan.
Afghanistan has not yet specified a time for a pause in hostilities from their side, but their government spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid said they will respond courageously to any aggression in the event of a threat.
