President Donald Trump has cast doubt over the status of Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, claiming he may not be alive.
Trump made the comments during an interview with NBC News, where he stated that nobody has been able to show Mojtaba, who was chosen as the Supreme Leader after his father's death in a joint US-Israeli airstrike.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had previously claimed that Mojtaba was 'injured' and 'disfigured' in the strike, while Iranian officials reported that he was injured in the leg.
Trump also expressed skepticism over Mojtaba's recent written statement, suggesting that he may be 'scared' and 'lacking legitimacy.'
In a separate development, Trump shared his thoughts on the Iran war, stating that while Iran is ready to make a deal, the terms are not good enough yet.
He also claimed that the US has dealt significant damage to Iran's war infrastructure, knocking out most of their missiles and drones, and that the country's power to drop mines or shoot short-range missiles will soon be 'totally decimated.'
