The wife of a high school teacher who was tragically killed during a prank gone wrong is pleading for the dismissal of all charges against the students involved. Jason Hughes, 40, was struck by a vehicle when he lost his footing and fell outside his residence in Gainesville, Georgia, while pursuing students who were decorating his front yard with toilet paper as part of a prank war.
According to his wife, Laura, Jason was not attempting to confront the students in anger but was excited to catch them in the act. She emphasized that her family is resolute in their efforts to prevent another tragedy from occurring, ruining the lives of these students.
One of the teenagers, Jayden Wallace, 18, is facing a potential sentence of up to 15 years in jail after being charged with vehicular homicide in connection with Hughes' death. The incident occurred just hours after school officials cautioned juniors and seniors to cease the annual prank war.
