The Andhra Pradesh cabinet has approved the implementation of the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgaar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025, which will provide 125 days of guaranteed employment annually for rural households, up from 100 days.
The scheme, which will be implemented across all rural areas of the state with a 60:40 funding ratio between the Centre and the state government, is expected to increase annual household income by up to ₹7,675.
The programme also mandates wage payments within seven days of work completion, with 0.05% daily interest for delays beyond 15 days.
The cabinet also approved several other initiatives, including the implementation of the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act, 2011, aimed at curbing illegal organ trafficking and ensuring transparency in organ transplantation procedures.
Additionally, the cabinet approved the Andhra Pradesh Aviation Policy 2026-31, which aims to transform the state's aviation sector by increasing passenger handling capacity and expanding air cargo capacity.
The government also plans to establish nine new airports and attract over $1 billion in investments in the MRO and aerospace manufacturing sectors.
