Assam CM Assigns Guardian Districts to 16 Cabinet Ministers

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced 16 ministers as 'guardians' of the 35 districts in the state. The ministers will be responsible for coordinating overall development in their assigned districts and work as point persons during emergencies and natural disasters.

The ministers have been assigned districts as follows: Rameswar Teli (Tinsukia and Jorhat), Atul Bora (Kamrup (Metropolitan) and Dhemaji), Charan Boro (Kokrajhar, Baksa, and Chirang), Ajanta Neog (Morigaon and Kamrup), and 12 other ministers who took oath on June 5.

These ministers will work closely with the district administrations to further accelerate progress and prosperity in the state. The allocation of portfolios of the new ministers will be done within one week, as announced by CM Sarma.
