A massive fire broke out at a shopping complex in the busy Ameerpet commercial area on Thursday afternoon, reducing several shops in the three-storied building to ashes. Fortunately, there were no casualties in the mishap.

According to Hyderabad police commissioner V C Sajjanar, the fire broke out at KSR Fashions, a garments showroom, located in the commercial complex near the Hyderabad metro rail station at Ameerpet.

Emergency response and rescue operations were taken up at the site, with firefighters rushing to the scene after receiving alerts about the blaze. Seven fire engines were engaged in controlling the fire, which was brought under control after intensive firefighting operations for over an hour.

The incident caused heavy traffic congestion on the busy main road, but the timely evacuation of the building and swift response by emergency services helped avert a major tragedy.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the fire might have originated in a commercial section of the complex before spreading rapidly due to the presence of combustible materials.
