The Pune airport was temporarily shut down for 11 hours after an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft experienced a 'hard landing' incident.
A minor fire broke out but was quickly extinguished, and both pilots were safe.
The runway was blocked, leading to a temporary closure, and at least eight flights were diverted to other airports.
Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol confirmed the temporary suspension of runway operations, stating that the aircrew were safe and there was no damage to civil property.
Flight operations were heavily affected, with several flights cancelled, but operations resumed at 9 am on Saturday after completion of safety inspections and clearances.
