Indian Consulate General in Houston and Seattle extended warm greetings to the community on the occasion of Baisakhi, a significant spring harvest festival in India.
President Droupadi Murmu also extended her heartfelt greetings to all Indians living in India and abroad, saying the festivals reflect the country's rich cultural heritage and agricultural traditions.
Baisakhi, also known as Vaisakhi, marks the beginning of the Punjabi and Sikh New Year and is mainly celebrated in North India, especially in Punjab.
The festival is celebrated with traditional music, dance, and community gatherings, with devotees visiting gurudwaras to offer prayers and express gratitude for a bountiful harvest season.
