India, Germany Strengthen Defence, Tech Ties Amid West Asia Turmoil

India and Germany have agreed to boost cooperation in defence, green hydrogen, renewable energy, and critical technologies amidst the ongoing West Asia conflict and Russia-Ukraine war.

The decision was made during foreign office consultations co-chaired by Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and German State Secretary Géza Andreas von Geyr in Berlin.

The two sides also reviewed bilateral relations and explored ways to deepen their strategic partnership, discussing areas such as trade, security, technology, sustainable development, and mobility.

They agreed to deepen and diversify collaboration in critical and emerging technologies, defence, industrial collaboration, digital governance, renewable energy, green hydrogen, innovation, and development cooperation in third countries.
