India-Russia Friendship Key to Tackling Global Challenges, Says PM Modi

In a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the crucial role of India-Russia friendship in addressing global challenges. Modi expressed his confidence that the strong bond between the two nations will enable them to face future challenges together. During the conference, Modi highlighted the countries' shared commitment to fighting terrorism, citing recent attacks in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam and Russia's Crocus City Hall. He stressed that terrorism poses a threat to humanity and global unity is crucial in combating it. The Prime Minister also announced that India and Russia have agreed on a comprehensive economic cooperation program to boost trade by 2030. He emphasized the importance of improving connectivity between the two nations, with projects such as the International North-South Transport Corridor, the Northern Sea Route, and the Chennai-Vladivostok Maritime Corridor set to begin with renewed momentum. Russian President Vladimir Putin echoed Modi's sentiments, praising the strong working relationship between the two leaders. Putin forecasted that bilateral trade between the countries will remain at a record 12% growth level, building on last year's achievement. He also acknowledged Modi's list of pressing issues that require joint attention from both governments, assuring that they will be addressed accordingly.
