IndiGo's operational crisis entered its third day, leaving over 16,500 passengers stranded at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The airline cancelled 163 domestic flights and delayed 98 out of 101 departures on Thursday, causing widespread disruption. According to airport officials, the average delay per flight was 160 minutes due to crew-related issues. The airline's struggles compounded the chaos from Wednesday, with 77 arrivals and 86 departures cancelled. The crisis also led to missing luggage, with some passengers reporting they had not recovered their checked bags for three to four days. Anxious passengers gathered at IndiGo ticket counters seeking information about flight disruptions and lost luggage. For many, the ordeal has been a long and frustrating one. Gaurav Verma, a 30-year-old passenger, will have waited over 24 hours to board a flight to Pune by Friday morning. 'I've been stuck here since 10pm Wednesday, with multiple flight changes and cancellations,' he said. International passengers also faced difficulties, including Wieger Braak, 19, from Amsterdam, who missed his brother's hockey tournament in Chennai due to delays. 'We've been here since 1am trying to book another flight, but to no avail,' he said. Those travelling for family emergencies were particularly affected. Hussain, 22, said he needed to reach his hospitalised grandfather in Jammu but was unable to do so due to the flight disruptions. IndiGo has assured passengers that their luggage will be delivered, but many are still waiting to hear from the airline. The crisis has left passengers stranded, frustrated, and financially burdened, with some spending thousands of rupees on last-minute alternative flights or hotel rooms. As the operational crisis continues, IndiGo passengers are left wondering when they will be able to reach their destinations safely and on time.
