The ongoing water crisis in Indore's Bhagirathpura area has taken a turn for the worse, with the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) confirming the presence of bacteria in 26 out of 50 water samples collected four days ago. The IMC's Additional Commissioner, Rohit Sisoniya, has assured that teams are working round the clock to resolve the issue, which has left residents without a reliable source of drinking water. To address the problem, the IMC has sealed a leakage point near a police outpost and dismantled a nearby toilet. The administration has also collected additional water samples for testing and has advised residents to use tankers for drinking water and boil it before consumption. Sisoniya emphasized that the IMC is working to quickly restore the water lines and supply safe drinking water to the affected areas. In the meantime, residents have been advised to use water from IMC-provided tankers and boil it before consumption. The IMC has also made round-the-clock announcements to inform residents of the situation and provide guidance on safe water usage. The IMC has collected 50 samples from 32 different sites and is working to identify the source of the contamination. The administration has promised to provide regular updates on the situation and to inform residents when it is safe to use the tap water again.
