The Kerala High Court collegium has recommended five judicial officers for elevation as high court judges, including a judge who acquitted actor Dileep in a high-profile actress assault case.
Honey M Varghese, the current Alappuzha Principal District and Sessions Judge, was a judge in the Ernakulam principal and sessions court when he acquitted Dileep in the 2017 case.
The collegium has also recommended Sasi Kumar PS, KK Balakrishnan, N Harikumar, and Nazeera S for the promotion based on their seniority.
The names will be sent to the Supreme Court Collegium for final consideration.
