A doctor from Kolkata, West Bengal, has come up with a unique initiative, offering discounts to patients for saying 'Jai Shri Ram'. Dr PK Hazra, an interventional cardiologist, said any patient visiting him for consultation and saying 'Jai Shri Ram' will receive a discount of ₹500.
However, the medical association has called it against medical ethics, stating that it discriminates against patients based on their religion or political affiliation.
Dr Hazra explained that his intention was to 'support BJP mentally' and 'contest this election as a BJP candidate'. He also confirmed that the discount does not discriminate between any religion.
The Indian Medical Association questioned Hazra over the post and asked him to explain himself, describing the discount as against medical ethics and professional conduct.
