New Delhi, The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has busted a dark web-based drugs trafficking network, arresting two persons and seizing a large quantity of contraband worth ₹5 crore. The network, operating under the code name 'Team Kalki', used cryptocurrency to launder illicit drug money and shipped over 1,000 consignments since January 2025.
NCB officials seized 2,338 LSD blots, 160 MDMA pills, 73 grams of charas, 3.64 grams of amphetamine, and 3.6 kg of liquid MDMA from 13 domestically intercepted parcels and two parcels from the Netherlands.
The operation marks one of the significant crackdowns on darknet-based narcotics trafficking networks in India. Two habitual offenders, Anurag Thakur and Vikas Rathi, were arrested after the NCB tracked the clandestine network for three months.
The network sourced LSD and MDMA from international darknet vendors and received orders from Indian customers through encrypted platforms like 'Dread' and 'Session'. The operators used the 'dead drop' delivery network in some parts of Delhi and predominantly used Speed Post for pan-India deliveries.
