Kathmandu, Apr 15 (PTI) Nepal's Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal said Prime Minister Balendra Shah's visit to India will be finalised after consultations between the two countries' external affairs ministries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Prime Minister Balendra Shah to visit India, but no date or itinerary has been finalised.

The government has not made any decision yet, and a decision will be made after the new government fixes its priorities and the two foreign ministries complete their preparations.

During a meeting with Minister for External Affairs S Jaishankar in Mauritius, Khanal expressed his view that the high-level visit will take place after the technical mechanisms of the two ministries complete their tasks.

There are around 40 such mechanisms between the two countries, and some of these mechanisms are inactive. Khanal said the visit will take place only after completing all the preparations.
