Police have registered two FIRs against three X accounts and one Facebook account for allegedly instigating violence and unrest during workers' protests demanding a salary hike in Noida.
The protests, which began on Friday, turned violent on Monday, and police have arrested 396 people so far.
The FIRs were registered against two X handles, Priyanka Bharti and Dr Kanchan Yadav, for posting videos of a Madhya Pradesh police assault incident, and a Facebook account, Jitendra Kumar Dausa, for posting similar content.
Police said the FIRs were registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the IT Act, and strict action will be taken against anyone instigating violence in the district.
Over 6,000 personnel are on the ground to prevent unrest, and officials said they will remain deployed for three days as a precautionary measure.
