Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took a jibe at Home Minister Amit Shah in Lok Sabha, saying even Chanakya would be 'shocked' by his 'political scheming.'
Speaking during a special session to discuss bills increasing Lok Sabha seats to 850 and ensuring one-third women representation, Priyanka said the bills are a means for the BJP to retain power.
She accused the government of undermining India's democracy and building a framework to strengthen its party ahead of the next elections.
Amit Shah responded by assuring that the increment in Lok Sabha seats would not disadvantage any state, providing details of the number of seats that will be increased for southern states.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the Lok Sabha, assuring that the women reservation bill would not discriminate against anyone and urging the Opposition to support the bill.
