The South Central Railway is gearing up for the Sankranthi festival by announcing 150 special trains to cater to the massive demand from Hyderabad and other key stations in the South Railway zone. According to Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) A. Sridhar, the additional trains aim to ease travel between Hyderabad and Coastal Andhra Pradesh, with connections from Narsapuram, Kakinada, Srikakulam, and Vizag. In addition to the special services, over 600 trains will continue to operate during the festival season, ensuring connectivity to the North, East, and South regions of India. However, passengers traveling through Secunderabad station may face some inconvenience due to ongoing redevelopment works. To mitigate congestion and streamline operations, several trains have been shifted from Secunderabad to other terminals, such as Charlapalli, Kacheguda, and Lingampalli. Passengers are advised to check updated schedules before travel. The South Central Railway has also suspended 16 regular mail express trains during the festival season and halted special trains at high-tech city stations to facilitate smoother travel. The railway authority urges travelers to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with station authorities, especially at stations undergoing renovation and upgradation works.
