Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and YSR Congress party have welcomed the delimitation of constituencies in India but urged the Centre to address concerns over possible injustice to southern states.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao warned that reduced representation for southern states in Parliament could trigger widespread public agitation.
The BRS has been demanding an increase in assembly and Lok Sabha seats as promised in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.
YSRCP state coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said the party supports the delimitation process but urged the Centre to take public concerns into account.
Both parties emphasized the need for a fair and inclusive delimitation exercise to ensure public confidence in the outcome.
