Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has intensified his campaign against the Centre's proposed delimitation exercise, urging people to hoist black flags at their homes and public places to register their dissent.

Stalin accused the BJP of 'betraying' southern states in the name of delimitation and claimed that the Centre's proposed constitutional amendments would alter the balance of representation between northern and southern states.

He alleged that the Centre was attempting to stifle Tamil Nadu's voice in Parliament and that the proposed changes would create a situation where representatives of southern states are not needed.

Stalin called for widespread public participation and urged every household in Tamil Nadu to express its opposition to the constitutional amendment.

He also appealed to all parties and MPs across India to unite to safeguard democracy.
