Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has announced his son Nara Lokesh as the party's working president, marking the first time in its 44-year history. Lokesh has been functioning as the party's national general secretary since June 2024, virtually controlling party affairs.

Naidu also revamped the politburo with 29 members, national committee with 31 members, and state committee with 185 members. The restructuring aims to balance experience and fresh leadership, while ensuring social representation.

The revamped committees have been constituted with a focus on regional equations, with significant representation of women, underprivileged sections, and minorities. The national committee features three general secretaries, 18 vice-presidents, and 10 spokespersons, while the state committee has seven general secretaries, 16 vice-presidents, and 14 spokespersons.
