Trinamool Congress (TMC) minority cell secretary Ajmal Siddiqui has resigned from the party, citing internal crisis and a 'dictatorial' attitude of party leader Abhishek Banerjee.

Siddiqui accused several TMC leaders of engaging in 'unsavoury activities' and blamed Banerjee for the party's collapse.

The TMC is facing one of its biggest challenges after losing power in West Bengal and a series of setbacks, including 58 rebel MLAs taking control of its legislature party.

Siddiqui said his priority is the development of West Bengal and hasn't ruled out joining the BJP, but for now, his focus is on seeing development in the state.
