Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has intensified his campaign against the Centre's proposed delimitation exercise, urging people to hoist black flags at their homes and public places to register their dissent.

Stalin accused the BJP of 'betraying' southern states in the name of delimitation, claiming it would grant more political strength to northern states and make southern states lose theirs.

He alleged that the Centre's proposed constitutional amendments would alter the balance of representation between northern and southern states, stifling Tamil Nadu's voice in Parliament.

Stalin called for widespread public participation, saying the time had come for every household in Tamil Nadu to express its opposition to the constitutional amendment.

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, however, struck a contrasting note, asserting that Tamil Nadu would not be adversely affected by the delimitation exercise.
