US President Donald Trump congratulated Taranjit Singh Sandhu on his appointment as Delhi's Lieutenant Governor, praising his efforts to strengthen India-US ties.
Trump wished Sandhu success in his new role, saying he had shown a deep commitment to the US-India relationship.
Former diplomat Taranjit Singh Sandhu was sworn in as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi on March 11 and called for a 'solution-oriented approach' to tackle the city's challenges.
He emphasized the need for cooperation among all stakeholders, saying Delhi had been his 'karmabhoomi' (workplace) and he had studied and worked there.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta welcomed the new Lieutenant Governor, saying the Delhi government looked forward to working under his guidance.
