As Varanasi prepares to welcome an estimated 100,000 visitors for the fourth edition of Kashi Tamil Sangamam, the city's security has been significantly bolstered. Additional police personnel, drones, and speedboats have been deployed to maintain vigilance, particularly along the River Ganga adjacent to the event venue, NaMo Ghat. The 15-day conference, themed 'Let us Learn Tamil - Tamil Karkalam,' aims to promote unity among Indian languages. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Saravanan Thangamani, around 80,000 to 100,000 people are expected to attend the event, which has been formally inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. To ensure public safety, the authorities have deployed four high-speed motorboats, 10 drones, and over 2,000 police personnel, including three companies of armed police forces and members of the National Disaster Response Force. The dedicated drone team and speedboats will provide enhanced security and protection to the attendees. Thangamani, a native of Tamil Nadu and the nodal officer for the event, expressed enthusiasm about the public's response to the conference. 'This time, the expectations are very high,' he said, highlighting the Ganga Arti performances at NaMo Ghat, which are expected to attract a large crowd. The authorities are taking all necessary measures to ensure a smooth and secure experience for the attendees, making Varanasi a hub of cultural exchange and unity during the Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0.
