The search for the Brown University shooting suspect continues, with police intensifying their efforts to gather information. In a renewed bid to find the gunman responsible for the deadly attack, officials are now going door-to-door in Providence neighborhoods, asking for security footage.
The Providence Police Department has increased its presence in the area, with officers visiting businesses and residences to request any available camera footage. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has also launched an online portal for the public to share information, tips, and footage related to the shooting.
New visuals of the suspect have been released, showing a person of interest walking along a sidewalk. While a 24-year-old male was previously detained, police have since released him, citing new evidence that points in a different direction.
The shooting, which occurred during an exam, has left at least two students dead and nine others injured. According to reports, the gunman fired over 40 rounds from a 9 mm handgun inside a classroom in the engineering building. The investigation is ongoing, with police working to identify the suspect and bring them to justice.
