FBI Unveils Enhanced Image of Person of Interest in Brown University Shooting, Seeks Public Help
A new image of a suspect in the Brown University shooting was released by federal authorities, marking the fourth day of the search.
Federal authorities have released a new, enhanced image of a person of interest in the Brown University shooting, which killed two students and injured nine others. The image, shared by the FBI Boston on X, is part of ongoing efforts to identify the suspect.
The FBI is working in coordination with the Providence Police Department and Rhode Island State Police to gather more information. A reward of up to $50,000 is being offered for any information that leads to the suspect's identification, arrest, and conviction.
The shooting occurred on Saturday, and authorities have been reviewing surveillance footage from the area. The enhanced image shows a man dressed in dark clothing, wearing a black face mask, beanie, and a two-toned jacket. Investigators have also released a video timeline of the person of interest's movements on the day of the attack.
Law enforcement agencies have been canvassing nearby neighborhoods and asking residents to share any video footage that could aid the case. Initially, a person of interest was detained, but they were later released due to insufficient evidence.
In response to the shooting, Brown University has increased campus security, with local and state law enforcement maintaining a perimeter around the university. Classes and final exams have been canceled for the remainder of the semester, and many students have left campus.
The public is being urged to come forward with any information that could help investigators. If you have any relevant footage or details, please contact the authorities immediately.
