In a recent social media post, Indian entrepreneur Prakash Dadlani shared his astonishing experience of visiting four factories across three Chinese cities within a single day. Dadlani, a manufacturer and exporter of home appliances, took a train from Hong Kong to China at 8:20 AM and by 11 AM, he was at his first factory for a meeting. He then visited the second, third, and fourth factories by 1:30 PM, 3:00 PM, and 4:30 PM, respectively, before returning to Hong Kong by 6:30 PM.
Dadlani attributed China's remarkable productivity to its 'insane infrastructure,' 'tight ecosystems,' 'train connectivity,' and 'factories being super prepared.' He emphasized that face-to-face meetings are essential in manufacturing, and that no amount of video calls can replicate the experience of visiting factories in person.
The post received mixed reactions on social media, with some praising China's hard work, entrepreneurship, and government dedication, while others questioned the sustainability of its fast-paced system. One user pointed out that infrastructure growth can be achieved with limitless debt, but that confidence and a healthy system are more important indicators of strength.
Dadlani's experience and observations have sparked a wider conversation about China's economic success and the importance of infrastructure, discipline, and face-to-face interactions in manufacturing.
