Pakistani Hindu Woman and Daughter Kidnapped in Karachi: Forced Conversion Fears Rise
This is the latest in the recent menace of armed men kidnapping Hindu women and forcibly converting them to Islam before marrying them off to ‘older’ men.  | World News
In a chilling incident, unidentified gunmen abducted a Pakistani Hindu woman and her minor daughter in Karachi's Sher Shah area, sparking concerns of a forced conversion and marriage. According to officials, the woman was taken away by three armed men in a white car just minutes after stepping out of her home in Sindhi Mohalla.
The abduction has sent shockwaves through the local community, where cases of Hindu girls and women being kidnapped and forcibly converted to Islam have become increasingly common. Civil rights activist Shiva Kaachi, who is fighting for the rights of the Hindu community in Sindh, said that Rani and her daughter are still missing. He expressed alarm at the situation, calling on senior police officials to take notice of the frequent kidnappings.
The family of the abducted woman, Rani, fears she will be forced to convert to Islam and married off to one of the kidnappers. Kaachi has also received death threats from groups involved in the abduction, forced conversion, and marriage of Hindu women. He has reported the matter to the police and sought security.
This incident is not an isolated case. In a similar incident in Umerkot city, armed men attempted to abduct a Hindu girl who had recently gotten married. However, the kidnappers were forced to flee after locals intervened. The increasing number of such incidents has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of Hindu women in Sindh province.
