A heartbreaking update has emerged in the search for 20-year-old Kaylee Russell, who went missing from Evans, Colorado, on November 29. According to her family, Russell's body was found in a car during a police search on Thursday, bringing an end to a three-day search effort. The investigation began when Russell's father received a call from her, reporting a flat tire at the Loveland/Johnstown Park-and-Ride on Highway 402 near I-25 in Evans. He arrived to assist and Russell continued driving towards her friends' house, but never arrived. A missing persons alert was issued by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after her family was unable to establish contact. A massive search effort involving multiple agencies, including the Colorado State Police, CBI, and local police departments, was launched on Tuesday. On Thursday, a Volkswagen car identical to the one Russell was driving was found on a waterway in Larimer County. The Colorado State Patrol confirmed that the car belonged to Russell, but the body found inside has yet to be officially identified. The family had launched a GoFundMe page to aid in the search efforts, and on Thursday, they shared a devastating update: 'Kaylee has been found, and unfortunately, she did not survive.' The cause of Russell's death remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing. More details are expected in the coming days.
