US Flags Lowered to Half-Mast in Honor of Fallen National Guard Soldier
President Donald Trump ordered the US flag to be flown at half mast at all public buildings and grounds to honor slain National Guard trooper Sarah Beckstrom.
In a show of respect, the US national flag will be flown at half-staff across the country on December 4, following a proclamation by President Donald Trump. The flags at the White House and Pentagon have already been lowered to half-mast in honor of Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, who lost her life in a shooting in Washington DC. Beckstrom, 29, was one of two National Guard soldiers shot by 29-year-old suspect Rahmanullah Lakanwal. While Beckstrom's injuries were fatal, her fellow soldier, Andrew Wolfe, is currently battling for his life after undergoing surgery. Trump's order, shared by independent journalist Eric Daugherty, calls for the flag to be flown at half-staff until sunset on December 4, 2025, at all public buildings, military posts, and naval stations across the US and its territories.
