Aamir Khan’s actor son Junaid Khan is set to return to the silver screen with the upcoming romantic drama film Ek Din, marking South beauty Sai Pallavi’s debut in Bollywood. The film, a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day, follows the story of a boy who wishes for his colleague to fall in love with him, even if it’s just for a day.

Some netizens drew comparisons with Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s blockbuster Saiyaara, but Aamir has now cleared the air. In a recent chat with Variety India, he shared that the twist in Ek Din is not related to Alzheimer's like in Saiyaara.

Aamir also opened up about his son Junaid, sharing that he is more like a friend to his children than a father. He revealed that Junaid has a sharp sense of cinema and is quite strong-willed, even beating him at chess when he was 18 years old.

Ek Din is set to arrive in theatres on May 1 and will mark Junaid’s third film, and Sai’s first Hindi project. After Ek Din, Sai will share the screen with Ranbir Kapoor later this year as Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.
