The sentencing for Nathan Chasing Horse, a former 'Dances With Wolves' actor convicted of sexual assault, has been delayed by a week.
The delay comes after a Nevada jury convicted Chasing Horse on 13 of 21 charges related to his conduct with an Indigenous victim who was 14 when the abuse began.
Chasing Horse faces a minimum of 25 years in prison and has already been charged with additional crimes in Canada and other states.
The sentencing, originally set for March 15, will now take place on March 18, bringing an end to a years-long case that sent shockwaves through Indian Country.
Chasing Horse's attorney had filed a motion for a new trial, but it was denied.
