The legal battle over the estate of late businessman Sunjay Kapur continues in court, with his sister Mandhira Kapur Smith and widow Priya Sachdev Kapur facing off in a defamation case.

Mandhira submitted her reply to Priya's criminal defamation complaint, which was filed in January this year, and also requested the court to direct Priya to produce certain documents relevant to the case.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Siddhant Sihag heard preliminary arguments and scheduled the next hearing for March 30, 2026.

The dispute dates back to January, when Priya Sachdev Kapur filed a criminal defamation complaint against her sister-in-law, Mandhira, alleging that several statements made by Mandhira contained false claims, insinuations, and personal attacks.

Mandhira has publicly denied that her statements were intended to damage Priya's reputation, claiming that she was simply telling the truth about the family's legacy.
