The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has issued fresh summons for actor-turned-politician Vijay in relation to the Karur stampede case. Vijay has sought a 15-day extension to appear before the CBI, citing political engagements.

The deadly stampede, which occurred on September 27, 2023, in Karur, Tamil Nadu, resulted in the deaths of 41 people and injured over 60.

Vijay was previously questioned by the CBI in January and has requested to be questioned in Tamil Nadu, with the agency considering his request.

The CBI has gathered material that needs further questioning and clarification from the actor, and fresh summons will be sent to Vijay.
