South Korean actor Yoo Yeon Seok has expressed his admiration for India's unique musical film genre, stating that he'd love to join a musical production in Bollywood one day. Currently, he stars in SBS's legal fantasy drama Phantom Lawyer, where he plays a lawyer who can see spirits.

Yoo revealed that he was drawn to the genre's unique elements, particularly the theme of pursuing justice even after death. As his character becomes possessed by the spirits of his deceased clients, he approached the role by thinking about what he could do for them as a lawyer.

The multihyphenate actor, who has a rich repertoire spanning over two decades across stage, films, television, and music, prefers the unpredictability of theatre and the control of screen acting. He finds performing in front of a live audience thrilling, but also appreciates the charm of connecting with viewers through the camera and editing.

With a career spanning two decades, Yoo has received recognition for his roles in hits such as Hospital Playlist, Dr Romantic, and Mr Sunshine. He plans to continue selecting projects that reflect his direction and vision as an actor.

Yoo also discussed his acting method, stating that his preparation process and approach to a character are similar regardless of genre or emotional depth. He weighs factors such as the character he'll be playing and the people he'll be working with when choosing a project.

As K dramas and Korean content continue to dominate global charts, Yoo believes that Korean productions have the potential to reach a global audience on their own. He hopes to expand his repertoire in comedy and noir genres, and is currently presenting a different range as an actor in Phantom Lawyer.
